Women's DMR Breaks School Record In Day One At Penn Relays


PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle women's DMR nicked the school record set a year ago on Thursday evening at the Penn Relays, clocking an 11:39.94. The The Blue and Gold finished fifth (15-team field) in their heat, finishing ahead of Rutgers, Temple, and South Carolina.

Wendy Hutchinson ran the opening leg with a 3:32.53 in the 1200m, followed by a 59.56 showing from  Chelsea Harris in the 400m. Tori Pisco clocked a 2:12.70 in the third leg while Meghan McGlinchey anchored the Explorers with a 4:55.16 in the 1600m anchor leg.

Individually, Stephanie Bearish and Meghan Lutz competed individually for the Explorers in the 5000m and 10,000m. Bearish ran a 17:39.93 in the 5000m, crossing the finish line 28th (31-runner field). Lutz competed later in the evening, posting a 36:24.58 in the 10,000mm, good for a 14th place finish (27-runner field).

The Explorer women will return to the track on Saturday afternoon at 4:10 p.m. in the 4x800m Championship. Hutchinson, Pisco, Cayleigh Solano, and Elizabeth Walker is the set lineup for the Blue and  Gold.
