A defensive stalwart all season long,
Rohan Brown made a defensive stand no bigger than his charge taken vs. Ole Miss in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. Brown's savvy play in the paint helped keep the momentum in the Blue and Gold's favor, riding the wave all the way to the Sweet 16.

The Explorers crawled all the way back from a 13-5 defecit to tie up the Temple Owls in crunch time on Senior Day. With 35 seconds remaining, senior goalkeeper
Maura Malone made the save of the season, preventing an Owl goal off a free position. La Salle went on to win the ball game, scoring with 12 seconds remaining, thanks to a brilliant save from their senior in net.
Field Hockey – September 15 vs. Rider (L, 3-2)

Shaffer led the A-10 in saves during the 2012 season, perhaps none more impressive than her back-to-back rejections vs. Rider. The sophomore made 11 saves against the Broncs, helping push the game to overtime.

In the biggest game of her career, senior goalkeeper
Gabrielle Pakhtigian could not have come up any bigger. She stopped eight VCU shot attempts including a pair of sensational saves, aiding the Explorer cause in a 2-1 overtime victory in the A-10 championship game.

John McCarthy kicked off his 2012 campaign in style, notching six saves in a 3-2 overtime victory over Soccer-6-rival Drexel. McCarthy had one body-bending save which particularly stood out, setting the tone for another terrific season for the All-A-10 goalkeeper.
