PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's soccer team will play the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in the opening round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament, the NCAA selection committee announced Monday evening. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, November 14 at RU's Yurcak Field.
The Explorers (14-5-2, 8-0 Atlantic 10) qualify for their fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament after going undefeated in league play and advancing to the Atlantic 10 Championship game. The Explorers are 25th in the RPI Rankings.
La Salle will play Rutgers (12-5-1, 8-4-1 Big Ten) for the first time since 2001, and the Scarlet Knights hold a 7-0-1 advantage in the all-time series.
