Jeff Williams Signs Four Recruits To Join La Salle Women's Basketball Next Season

PHILADELPHIA - Four players have signed National Letters of Intent to join the La Salle women's basketball squad in 2014-15.

The geographically diverse recruiting class features players from New Jersey, Maryland, Georgia and Texas.

Iyonna Crenshaw (Neptune, N.J./Neptune) is a key contributor on one of the Shore Conference's powerhouse teams. Crenshaw is scoring 15.7 ppg and pulling down 9.9 rebounds per game for Neptune High School while leading her squad to a current 18-3 record and 12-0 league record. The 6'1 forward is chipping in 2.3 steals and 1.4 blocks per game as well. She recently put up a 20-point/12-rebound performance, and was a Second Team All-Division pick as a junior. She was named Second Team Preseason All-Shore this season. She is the 19th ranked player in New Jersey according to MaxPreps.

Amy Griffin (Atlanta, Ga./Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy) is a 6'1 power forward from Atlanta. She is averaging 17.4 points and 3.6 assists while leading her team to a current 22-5 overall record and 12-0 league record. She is considered an aggressive player who can score inside, and was an All-Metro Honorable Mention pick last season. She is also the 18th-ranked player in Georgia according to MaxPreps.

Ashanti Freeland (Brandywine, Md./Gwynn Park) is a 6'3 center at Gwynn Park High School, and also played a year at national powerhouse Riverdale Baptist as a junior. Freeland is draining 10.2 points per game while leading her team to a current 17-3 overall record and 15-1 league record. She is the 58th ranked player in the state of Maryland.

Jordan Williams (Grand Prairie, Texas/South Grand Prairie) will add depth at the guard position. The 5'10 guard recently finished up her senior season at South Grand Prairie, helping the squad go 22-11. She averaged 3.1 points and 2.1 rebounds this season on a very balanced scoring team, and scored 5.1 ppg as a junior last season.

The current crop of Explorers return to action next Wednesday (2/26) at Duquesne at 7 p.m.
