Scouting the Explorers
The Explorers return to the court after a weekend bye in conference play, looking to utilize fresh legs to bounce back from their first three-game skid of the season. They led 22nd-ranked Dayton early, before ultimately falling 84-69 at home last Wednesday. Alicia Cropper drained a game-high 24 points, Micahya Owens added 14 and Jasmine Alston chipped in 10.

The Explorers continue to rank among the league's best defenses. The squads holds A-10 opponents to just 56.9 points per game to lead the conference and is well ahead of second-place Duquesne on the three-point field goal defense list by holding opponents to a 20.1 percent clip from long range. In comparison, the Dukes rank second with a 26.0 percent 3-point field goal defense.

They also continue to crash the boards, ranking third in the league with 42.1 rebounds per game, as well as third in both offensive rebounds (14.0 orpg) and defensive rebounds (28.1 drpg). The Explorers hold opponents to 38.8 rpg for a +3.4 margin.

Although the defense remains strong, the offense has struggled lately as the squad ranks at or near the bottom in both field goal and free throw percentage.

Individually, Cropper is up to 14.4 points per game on the season to lead all Explorer scorers. That ranks her 11th in the Atlantic 10, while her 16.4 ppg in conference play ranks her sixth on the league lists. The redshirt junior has been tearing up a number of categories particularly since the start of A-10 play, as she ranks in the top 15 in the conference in assists (3.1; 13th), defensive rebounds (4.9; T-15th), 3-point field goals made (1.9; 9th) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.2; 13th).

Owens is second on the squad with 13.4 ppg overall while leading the team with an 80.2 percent clip from the free throw line on the season. She ranks11th in the A-10 in overall free throw percentage, and her 80.4 percent shooting in league play ranks her 10th. She's also in the top 15 with 1.5 made three-pointers per game.
