NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The women's DMR uprooted a school record on Friday evening, clocking an 11:34.33 en route to a first place finish at the Yale Giegengack Invitational.
Tori Pisco,
Chelsea Harris,
Cayleigh Solano, and
Meghan McGlinchey ousted the previous record of 11:42.72 set in 2002.
Pisco and Solano came in first and second, respectively in the 800 meter run. Pisco registered a 2:12.34 while Solano came in at 2:14.43.
McGlinchey burned the field in the 3000 meter run, clocking a 9:51.23. Capozzi finished second with a 10:00.28.
Rochelle Harrison ran a 2:56.75 in the 1000 meter run, placing third.
Shanice Johnson came in fifth in the 60 meter finals, posting an 8.16.
The Explorers will compete next week in split squad action. Some will run at the Lafayette-Rider Winter Games and others will visit the Iowa State Classic.
