Lacrosse Hosts Two Games This Week

PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle lacrosse squad looks bounce back from two losses with home games against Drexel and Liberty this week.

Scouting the Explorers
La Salle looks to get back on track after back-to-back losses to UMBC and Delaware. Sophomore Katelyn Fay led the Explorers in those two games with four goals and an assist for five points, with four of those points coming in an 18-7 loss to the Blue Hens. The squad was also edged in a 7-6 heartbreaker on a late goal by UMBC in its last home contest.

The Explorers are back in McCarthy Stadium for two straight contests before heading to Delaware State on the 19th. After these two games, they will have just one more home nonconference game, a March 24th contest against California.

With her five points in the last two games, Fay moved into the team scoring lead with 13 points on the season, thanks to 10 goals and three assists. She is tied for the team lead in goals (10) with Caitlyn Brostrand, who also has one assist for 11 points. Claire Andrews is second on the squad in points with 12 on seven goals and a team-best five assists.

Also in the scoring column is Erin McCabe, who ranks second on the team in goals with eight and has a total of nine points. McCabe is dangerous with the ball, sporting a .800 shot percentage thanks to those eight goals coming on just 10 shots attempted.

Gabby Antonelli has played 297 of a possible 300 minutes in goal, and is sporting a scant 8.27 goals against average and a .468 save percentage.

As a team, the Explorers are scoring 10.20 goals per game while limiting opponents to 8.40. They have also scooped up 75 ground balls to 57 for opponents, but have struggled on the draw control as opponents have controlled 66 to the Explorers' 38.

Scouting the Dragons
Drexel snapped a three-game skid with a 9-8 win over UMBC on Saturday, led by Kelly Palace's three goals. Prior to that, the Dragons lost 16-6 to No. 15 Stony Brook, 13-10 at Colgate and 9-5 at Villanova. They also own wins over Atlantic 10 foes George Washington and Saint Joseph's.

Palace is the team's leading goal scorer with 13 tallies. Joelle Hartke leads the team in points with 14 on nine goals and a team-high five assists. Amanda Norcini also has 13 points on nine goals and four assists.

Norcini leads the team with 20 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers, while adding a team-second-best 16 draw controls. Milan White is the team draw control leader with 19.

Teresha Bradley has started all six games in goal, playing 315 of 400 possible minutes. She sports a 9.35 goals against average and .410 save percentage. Carlee Ries has seen 45 minutes in two games, recording an 11.83 GAA and .400 save percentage.

Scouting the Flames
Liberty comes in looking for its second win of the season, struggling to a 1-6 record. The Flames dropped an 11-9 game to Old Dominion on Sunday. Their lone win of the season is a 13-9 triumph over Elon on Feb. 21.

Sam Struss is by far the team's offensive leader, draining a team-high 18 goals along with three assists for 21 points. Nina Dunay is second with 12 points on nine goals and three assists, and Kallie Britton rounds out the top three point getters with 10 points on four goals and a team-high six assists. Morgan Becker is third on the goal tally list, scoring eight along with one assist for nine points. Becker also leads the team with 21 draw controls.

Three goalkeepers have seen time, though Kristen Masullo has started all seven games and played 343 minutes. She is recording a 15.89 GAA and .428 save percentage. Kristin Boland has played 67 minutes in two games, and has a 16.03 GAA and .308 save percentage. Juliann Elmer got in to one game for nine minutes.
