Scouting the Explorers
La Salle is coming off of a comeback win over Liberty on Saturday, erasing an 8-3 halftime deficit to win 11-10. Reigning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week
Toni Massetti drained five goals in an eight-goal second-half run, including the game winner, and also assisted on another.
Caitlyn Brostrand continues to lead the scoring effort with 18 points on 15 goals and three assists.
Katelyn Fay is at her heels with 17 points on 13 goals and four assists.
Erin McCabe is up to 12 points on 11 goals and one assist, tying
Claire Andrews though Andrews is now out for the season with an injury. Massetti rounds out the double-digit point getters with 11 on eight goals and three assists.
Defensively,
Katie Marasco and
Kaitlin Colbridge lead the squad with seven caused turnovers apiece, while
Maggie O'Ferrall and
Jackie Donato have caused six each.
Kelly Furman leads by far with 15 ground balls while adding five caused turnovers.
Rookie keeper
Gabby Antonelli has played in all but about 22 minutes this season, sporting an 8.60 goals against average and .457 save percentage.
Chelsea DiIonno saw her first action against Liberty, making three saves in just under 20 minutes.
Scouting the Hornets
Delaware State is in just its second year as a program, and is still in search of its first program win. The Hornets dropped an 18-2 decisioni to Manhattan on Saturday. Their closest game of the year was a 22-16 setback to Presbyterian on Feb. 22.
Emily Etkins leads the squad with 15 goals and two assists for 17 points. Megan Card has recorded 12 points on seven goals and five assists, and Emily Peets rounds out the top three with nine points on seven goals and two assists.
Rhian Sellers has seen the majority of time in goal (284 minutes) and has a 21.50 GAA and .389 save percentage. Emily Pasternak has played 135 minutes, recording a 14.63 GAA and .431 save percentage.
Scouting the Golden Bears
California comes to the East Coast for a three-game swing, starting at La Salle, and then heading to Lehigh and Yale later in the week. The Golden Bears are 2-2 with their most recent win a 16-6 triumph over visiting Siena on March 12. They will play Towson on March 20 prior to Monday's contest.
The Golden Bears feature a well-balanced scoring attack with five players ranging from 10 to 13 points on the season. Paige Gasparino has 13 on nine goals and four assists, while Bella Huther leads all players with 12 goals. Lizz Lavie has scored two goals while leading all players with 10 assists. Amelia Burke and Gaby Christman round out the double-digit scorers with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Christman leads defensively with a team-high 16 draw controls and a team-high eight caused turnovers.
Helen Hansen has played all but 10 minutes in goal, sporting a 9.95 GAA and .400 save percentage.
