PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle lacrosse squad returns from nearly two weeks off to open the Atlantic 10 slate on Friday with a trip to No. 10 UMass. The Explorers continue on the road on Sunday with a tilt at Richmond.

The Explorers sparked that streak with a thrilling 11-10 comeback win over Liberty, then followed up with a 20-1 win at Delaware State. That one goal marked the lowest opponent goal total since 2002. The Explorers capped off the nonconference season last Monday with a 10-6 win over visiting California.
The Explorers also have a three-week stranglehold on the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week award, as freshman sharpshooter
Toni Massetti earned the honor on both March 17 and March 31 and
Allee Ilgenfritz earned her first career honor on March 24.
On the offensive side,
Katelyn Fay leads all scorers with 22 points on 17 goals and five assists. Her 17 goals is tops on the team and her five assists ties her for first place with
Claire Andrews and
Kelly Furman.
Caitlyn Brostrand is up to 19 points on 16 goals and three assists, and
Erin McCabe rounds out the top three with 17 points on 14 goals and three assists. Massetti, who led all scorers in the month of March, is up to 16 points on 13 goals and three assists.
Defensively,
Maggie O'Ferrall leads all players with nine caused turnovers.
Katie Marasco has caused eight and
Kaitlin Colbridge has recorded seven. Brostrand leads all with 11 draw controls and
Jackie Donato is second with 10. Furman is well in the lead in the groundball category, scooping up 18 on the season, while five players are tied with 11 each.
Rookie keeper
Gabby Antonelli has seen 487 of the possible 540 minutes in goal, recording a scant 7.75 goals agaisnt average and .484 save percentage.
Scouting the MinutewomenThe 10th-ranked Minutewomen are coming off of their first loss of the season, dropping a 10-6 decision to No. 7 Northwestern in the nonconference finale. The loss also snapped a 31-game home win streak.
UMass enters A-10 play with a 9-1 record. The squad did not give up double-digit goals all season until the loss to Northwestern, while scoring in double-digits in eight of the nine wins.
Katie Ferris leads a potent UMass offense with 45 points on 20 goals and a team-high 25 assists. Sam Rush leads all goal scorers with 33 goals while adding three assists for 36 points. Erika Eipp rounds out the top three with 28 points on 13 goals and 15 assists. Tanner Guarino and Melissa Carelli
Rachel Vallarelli has started all 10 games, recording a 6.29 GAA and .468 save percentage while making 51 saves.
Scouting the SpidersRichmond concluded nonconference play with a 5-4 record; however, three of those losses were to top-10 teams including No. 2 Maryland, No. 9 Virginia and No. 6 Notre Dame. The squad topped Longwood 15-3 in the nonconference finale last Wednesday, and will play Saint Joseph's in the A-10 opener on Friday before Sunday's meeting with La Salle.
Emily Doyle leads the Spiders with 33 points on 15 goals and 18 assists. Anna Jeszeck is second with 18 points on 11 goals and seven assists, while Charlett Stevenson leads all goal scorers with 16 goals.
Bailey Zerr dominates on draw controls, recording a team-high 27 controls.
Emily Boyce has seen 480 of a possible 540 minutes in goal, recording a 9.25 GAA and .408 save percentage.
