2014 La Salle Field Hockey SchedulePHILADELPHIA - The La Salle field hockey program kicks off its 2014 slate on Friday, Aug. 29, when the Explorers play Holy Cross in the first of two games at the UMass Lowell Tournament. The 2014 schedule features 10 nonconference games as well as an eight-game Atlantic 10 schedule that includes league newcomer Davidson.
The Explorers saw the Riverhawks as well as Bryant and Lehigh last season, with wins in each of those contests.
The Explorers will start with three games on the road, including the two tournament games and a stop at Columbia, before opening at Hank DeVincent Field against local rival Villanova on Wednesday, Sept. 10. That opens a three-game homestand, along with Rider on Sept. 13 and Davidson in the A-10 opener on Sept. 19.
The remainder of the schedule includes home games against VCU, Richmond, defending A-10 champion Massachusetts, and Bryant. The Explorers will travel to Lock Haven, Towson, Saint Francis (Pa.), Temple, Saint Louis, Missouri State, Saint Joseph's and Lehigh.
The 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship will feature the top four finishers in league play, with the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 7 and the championship game on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the University of Richmond.
