PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle men's soccer team is poised for their 2014 home opener on Saturday afternoon as they host the Temple Owls at McCarthy Stadium at 1 p.m.

Scouting the Explorers

La Salle is looking to rebound from losses to Vermont and UMass Lowell in the Windjammer Classic last weekend. The Explorers continue to see promise from their newcomers as freshman Johnny Ciarlante was named to the all-tournament team for his goal against Vermont. In the first three games this season, four different freshman have registered a start.

Scouting the Owls

The Owls are 1-3 to begin the season and coming off losses on the road to No.16 Penn State and Duke. Forward Olli Tynkkynen leads the team with five points, and earned the first American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week of the season after he scored his first two collegiate goals in the team's 3-0 win against Sacramento State.
 
The Owls triumphed 3-0 in the last contest between the two teams on October 28, 2012, when Temple was a member of the Atlantic 10.
