Laura Kuhlmeier led the Explorers with nine kills while classmate
Erin Noga tallied eight digs on the evening.

The Flyer came out swinging in set one, scoring the first nine points. Despite falling behind early, La Salle battled back thanks to six straight points of its own and pulled the set to within 13-7. Two Kuhlmeier kills, two
Phoebe Cook, and a
Kelly Perillo ace helped pull the Explorers to within six points. However, Dayton answered back with its own runs and took the set 25-15. Kuhlmeier paced the Explorers with four kills and a .571 hitting percentage in the first set.

La Salle came out and was ready to battle in set two. The beginning of the set went back and forth with the Explorers holding several one point advantages early in the set. However, the Flyers were able to answer, with the score tied at 13-13 the visitors pulled away to secure the set 25-19. Again, Kuhlmeier paced the Explorers with four kills, while Noga tallied five digs in the set.

Dayton was able to come out and secure the victory with a decisive set three. The Flyers never trailed and were very successful in limiting the Explorers attacking options. La Salle only able to muster four kills in the 25-9 set.

Michelle Healy added 21 assists and six digs in the losing effort while freshman
Bryanna Davis tallied four kills and seven digs on the day.

La Salle returns to action next Friday when they travel to Rhode Island for their first Atlantic 10 road trip of the season.Â
