PHILADELPHIA - Gina Catanzariti has been named the Director of Women's Basketball Operations at La Salle, announced today by Head Coach Jeff Williams.

Catanzariti joins the La Salle women's basketball staff after a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Wagner College, and brings a plethora of basketball experience to the team.

"I couldn't be more excited for the opportunity to work for Coach Williams and be a part of the La Salle Women's Basketball Program," Catanzariti said. "I will strive to impact the lives of the student-athletes and the program through my responsibilities as the Director of Operations."

Catanzariti spent the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons on the sidelines at Wagner, where she was responsible for a number of administrative operations while working on player development primarily with the guards. While there, she worked with the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Year while helping recruit a freshman class that led the Seahawks to their first NEC Tournament appearance in four years. She was also charged with monitoring the team's academics and providing scouting reports on opponents. Catanzariti also had a hand in outreach, as she coordinated team, youth and elite camps and also working on the alumni end to keep former Seahawks engaged with the program.

Prior to Wagner, Catanzariti worked with BlueStar Basketball as an operations assistant for the AAU program and also served as an assistant for the Philadelphia Belles AAU team that advanced to the Boo Williams Tournament semifinals in 2012.

She got her start in coaching at Washington Township High School in Sewell, NJ, as an assistant where she helped lead the varsity squad to a 27-4 overall record and 2011-12 South Jersey Group IV Championship. Right after that championship season, Catanzariti participated in the prestigious WBCA "So You Want To Be A Coach" program in conjunction with the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.

Catanzariti was a four-year student-athlete at Rowan University, where she was a 1,000-point scorer and three-year starter for the Profs. As a player, she helped lead the team to NJAC Tournament appearances all four years. She was an academic standout as well, earning the Scholar-Athlete Medallian Award for the Rohrer College of Business and the Dr. Shirley O'Day Athletic Award. She served as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and also represented the United States in Ireland as captain o the USAAI women's basketball team in 2009.

Catanzariti graduated with honors from Rowan in 2011 with a bachelor of science in marketing, and was a member of both the Chi Alpha Sigma and Golden Key International honor societies. She earned her MBA in management from Wagner in May 2014.
