New York, N.Y.- Freshman
Megan Connell and senior
Taylor Hackett both turned in top 15 finishes in the 3000 meter run to guide the Explorers at the New York City Gotham cup on Friday at the Armory Track.

Connell paced the Explorers with a 10:13.96 while Hackett finished close behind with a time of 10:19.08 for 10
th and 13
th place finishes respectively. Sophomore
Olivia Boyer was also in the 3000 meter field and finished in 11:00.65 for a 26
th place finish in the 36 person field.

Senior
Cayleigh Solano and freshman
Ifetayo Tyler both represented the Explorers in the 800 meter run. Solano turned in a time of 2:21.09 while Tyler finished in 2:22.95 for 19
th and 29
th place finishes overall in the 99 women field.

Three La Salle women were a part of the 92 women field in the 1 mile run. Junior
Rebecca Scardelletti paced the Explorers with a 21
st place finish and a time of 5:19.15. Senior

Michelle Myland also competed with times of 5:37.71 and 5:38.46 to finish in 60
th and 62
nd place overall.

Victoria Jones competed in two events on the day for the Explorers finishing in 83
rd place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.50 seconds and in 98
th place in the 60 meter dash preliminaries with a time of 8.799 seconds. Junior
Kirra Meertens also competed in the 60 meter dash finishing just ahead of Jones with a time of 8.793 for 97
th place.

Amber Jenkins turned in a 55
th place finish in the 200 meter dash thanks to a time of 27.08 seconds. She also competed in the 400 meter dash finishing in 68
th place with a time of 1:02.48. Freshman
Carolyn Boyce also competed in the 400 meter dash, finishing in 88
th with a time of 1:06.12.

Amber Jackson finished 20
th out of 43 competitors in the long jump thanks to a distance of 16'9.75''.

The Explorers return to action next Friday when they travel to North Bethesda, Md. for the Georgetown Invitational. Â
