PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle volleyball team closes out its home schedule this weekend as they welcome Davidson and VCU to Tom Gola Arena. Friday's match against Davidson will begin at 7 p.m. while senior day on Sunday against VCU gets underway at 1 p.m.
Scouting the Wildcats...La Salle Explorers (6-21, 0-10 A-10) vs Davidson Wildcats (9-15, 3-7 A-10)Friday, Nov. 6 | Tom Gola Arena | 7:00 p.m.Live Statistics | Video Stream -Davidson enters the weekend after dropping six of their past eight matches. The Wildcats sit in seventh place in the conference at 3-7, just two matches out of a spot in the A-10 Championships heading into the final two weeks of the season.
-Davidson has been efficient at the net all season, as they rank second in the conference averaging 2.40 blocks per set against conference opponents.
-Junior Emily Franklin leads the team and is fourth in the A-10 averaging 1.09 blocks per set, freshman Sabrina Shepherd is close behind averaging 1.00 blocks per frame for ninth in the league.
-Shepherd owns two of the top six single match block performances this season. She recorded ten blocks twice, against Marshall and George Mason respectively this ties her for second most in a single match this season.
-Shepherd also leads the team with 154 kills on the season averaging 2.11 kills per set at a hitting percentage of .340 on the season. Mason Rooney is close behind with 149 kills on the year while Ciera Cockrell has added 138 of her own.
Scouting the Rams...La Salle Explorers (6-21 0-10 A-10) vs. VCU Rams (11-14, 5-5 A-10)Sunday, Nov. 8 | Tom Gola Arena | 1:00 p.m.Live Statistics -VCU enters the weekend riding a three game winning streak. The Rams sit in the final A-10 Championship spot in sixth place with a 5-5 conference record.
-Senior Kalah Jones ranks third in the conference by averaging 3.78 kills per set against conference opponents. Freshman Sahbria McLetchie also is in the top 10 at eighth averaging 3.29 kills per frame.
-McLetchie recorded 22 kills earlier this season against Liberty; this is the most in a single, three-set match by an Atlantic 10 player this season. Not to be outdone, Kalah Jones recorded 27 kills against Duquesne which sets the mark for an A-10 player in a four-set match this year.
-Sophomore Jane Feddersen has proved a threat at the service line as she ranks eighth in the league by averaging .37 aces per frame against conference opponents.
-Sophomore Rebekah Strange has anchored the backline for the Rams averaging 3.90 digs per frame against A-10 foes this season.

Bryanna Davis ranks tenth in the conference averaging 2.94 kills per set in league play.
-Freshman
Madison Kuch and
Jensen Sharrits have both made immediate impacts this season. Kuch ranks seventh in the conference averaging .39 kills per set while Sharrits is fifth in digs per frame at 3.44.
-Freshman
Jensen Sharrits recorded 34 digs against Bryant earlier this season; this is the most by any Atlantic 10 player in a single match on the year.
-La Salle recorded ten aces in a tight five set loss at VCU earlier this season. Kuch added four while fellow freshman
Taylor Hite added three of her own. Junior
Ashley Felton led the team with 14 kills in the match.
-Felton recorded a match-high 10 kills earlier this season in a 3-0 loss at Davidson. Much added nine of her own while Felton also provided four blocks in the match.
Next UpLa Salle closes out its 2015 season next weekend as they head south to the Washington D.C. area. They take on George Mason on Friday at 7 p.m. before traveling to George Washington on Saturday at 7 p.m. to finish out the season.
