CENTERVILLE, Mass.- La Salle catcher Ryan Welling has been named ECAC Division I South Player of the Week, it was announced Wednesday. 

Welling hit a blistering .667 (10-for-15) with a homer, three doubles and nine RBI's as La Salle took two of three at UNC Asheville this weekend. The redshirt senior slugged 1.067 and had a .688 on-base percentage during the three-game series.

The Baltimore, Md. native had career-highs with five hits and six RBI's in a 16-5 win on Friday thanks to a two-run double and a grand slam and finished 5-for-6 with three RBI's in Sunday's 14-3 win to clinch the series.

The Explorers host Villanova for their home opener on Wednesday at Hank DeVincent Field at 3 p.m.
