Katie O'Grady is among an elite group of student-athletes as she was named a 2014 Gladiator by SGA/NFHCA Division I Scholar of Distinction, announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA).
O'Grady is one of 79 student-athletes in Division I field hockey and one of 10 in the Atlantic 10 Conference who achieved a 3.9 or better through the fall 2014 semester to earn the honor. The Mechanicsburg, Pa., native achieved a perfect 4.0 in her first semester in La Salle's Speech/Language/Hearing program.
The defender played in seven games with four starts, including a start in the Explorers' 2-1 comeback win over Villanova. She helped the squad post an 11-7 record and a program-best 5-3 record in Atlantic 10 play last season.Â
