TIME CHANGE: 3 PM; Lacrosse Hosts Sacred Heart On Saturday

PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle lacrosse team returns to action on Saturday when the Explorers host Sacred Heart in a nonconference game. Opening draw has been pushed back to 3 p.m. from its original start time of 1 due to the winter storm that affected the area on Friday.

Scouting the Explorers
The Explorers look for their third straight win on Saturday, after defeating Kennesaw State on March 7 and Delaware State in their last contest on March 11. The Explorers dominated both games as they routed KSU 17-2 in a neutral site contest in Jacksonville and followed up with a 19-4 home win over Delaware State. Katelyn Fay matched her career high with six points on five goals and one assist in the win over Del State and Erin McCabe added her first hat trick of the season.

Allee Ilgenfritz currently leads the squad with 15 points this season on 13 goals and two assists. Ilgenfritz has scored in each of the Explorers' six contests so far this year, with three hat tricks and four multi-goal games. Fay catapulted up to second on the squad in scoring as her five goals against the Hornets doubled her season total to date. She currently has 13 points on 10 goals and three assists. Alanna Diffendal rounds out the top three in terms of points, as she has 11 on five goals and a team-leading six assists. Three more players (McCabe, Caitlyn Brostrand and Brittany Edwards) have each tallied six goals so far.

Defensively, McCabe is leading on the draw controls with 15 while Brostrand has picked up a team-leading 13 ground balls. Kerry Newby and Gabby Antonelli both have a team-high eight caused turnovers.

Antonelli has played the majority of time in goal and is sporting a .505 save percentage and 10.51 goals against average in 308 minutes of play. Lucy Loughlin has seen over 57 minutes, including playing the entire second half against Delaware State. Loughlin has a .444 save percentage and 10.46 GAA.

Scouting the Pioneers
The Pioneers are looking to snap a two-game skid as they fell to Binghamton (9-5) on March 7 and to Vermont (15-8) last Saturday. They enter the weekend with a 2-4 record with their wins coming against Holy Cross (8-5) and UMass Lowell (7-6).

Caitlin Delaney and Jenna Liljeberg lead the young squad with 11 points each. Delaney's 11 points have come on seven goals and four assists, while Liljeberg has scored a team-high eight goals and added three assists.

A trio of players have six points, including Kylie Calandra and Averi Farhat with six goals each and Liana Doyle with one goal and a team-high five assists.

Delaney leads the Pioneers in three defensive categories with 14 caused turnovers, 19 ground balls and 12 draw controls.

Kelly Keenan and Paige Hammick have divided time in goal as both have started three games each. Hammick, a freshman, leads with a .429 save percentage and 10.11 GAA. Keenan is currently recording a .377 save percentage and 10.21 GAA. She has also earned five of the six decisions.

The Explorers head across town to Drexel next Wednesday for the final nonconference game of the season. Opening draw is at 7 p.m.
