PHILADELPHIA - Eleven members of this year's field hockey team have been named to the Gladiator by SGT/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
The National Academic Squad recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2014-15 academic year. The entire squad was also honored as a National Academic Team for maintaining a team cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. All nine Atlantic 10 field hockey programs were recognized as National Academic Teams.
The student-athletes earning National Academic Squad honors are:
Colleen Kempf,
Abbey Lawrence,
Sophie Lozowski,
Jenica Miller,
Devin Muracco,
Katie O'Grady,
Julia Sproch,
April Stein,
Maddy Tettelbach,
Emily Vasey and
Taylor Yoder.
Tettelbach, a senior, was also recognized for being named to the National Academic Squad all four years.
The announcement of the National Academic Squad comes on the heels of last week's announcement of the Scholars of Distinction. O'Grady was named a Scholar of Distinction for achieving at least a 3.9 GPA.
