PHILADELPHIA – Catcher Ryan Welling has been named Co-Big 5 Player of the Week after his performance against St. Bonaventure over the weekend, it was announced Monday.
 
The redshirt senior had seven RBI's in three games as the Explorers took two of three from St. Bonaventure. The Baltimore, Md. native finished 4-for-12 with three runs scored and 7 RBI's over three games.
 
Welling had a grand slam to cap a 10-run 3rd inning in La Salle's series clinching win on Sunday after singling in a pair in the 1st  to finish 2-for-4 with two runs scored and six RBI's. The Calvert Hall graduate was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI in Saturday's 4-1 win.
 
The Explorers are back in action on Tuesday afternoon against Delaware State at Hank DeVincent Field at 3 p.m.
