SEATTLE, Wash. - La Salle senior Joe Farrell scored the game-winning goal in the 114th minute to lead the Red Bull U23s to a 2-1 victory over the Ocala Stampede in the USL PDL Semifinals. Farrell and the Red Bull U23s will advance to the USL PDL Championship for the second straight year on Sunday, while Farrell individually will be looking for his third straight national title.

Farrell's winner developed from a Scott Thomson throw-in from the left side. Farrell turned with the ball and found an opening, looping his shot over Ocala goalkeeper Lex Craggs and into the back of the net as NYRB U23 held firm to win the semifinal match.

The Blue Bell, Pa. native also scored the game-winner in ovetime last Sunday in a 2-1 win over the Jersey Express to send the Red Bull U23s to Seattle.

Last season, Farrell was named the MVP of the Championship game for the Red Bull U23s after scoring the game-winning goal in the finals. The previous summer, Farrell was the team captain and center back for the Lehigh Valley United U19s that won the National Championship.

Farrell is a three-time NSCAA All-Region selection for the Explorers and earned Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors this past season.

Fans can watch the Championship game on Sunday at 5 PM Eastern here.
