PRINCETON, N.J. – The La Salle women's soccer team fell to the Princeton Tigers 4-1 on Wednesday night at Roberts Stadium.
The Tigers took a 2-0 lead in the opening half, finding the back of the net in the 13
th minute on a goal from Vanessa Gregoire. Jesse McDonough sent a ball forward that La Salle keeper Larissa Zambelli was unable to cut off, leaving an empty net for Gregoire.
The Explorers kept it a one-goal game until the 42
nd minute, when Mimi Asom tucked a ball inside the post on a ball played forward by Emily Sura and Tyler Lussi.
Lussi then headed in Princeton's third goal in the 47
th minute. The Tigers also failed to clear a ball in the 68
th which resulted in an "own goal" to make it a 3-1 game. Lussi added a second goal in the 87
th minute to push the lead to 4-1.
The Explorers rattled off 11 shots in the game, landing four on goal.
The Explorers travel down Broad Street to take on the Temple Owls on Friday afternoon at 4 PM.
