WILMINGTON, N.C. – The La Salle women's basketball team is looking to build on a win over American last Sunday as they prep for games against Miami (OH) and UNC Wilmington in the UNC Wilmington Thanksgiving Classic this weekend.

All-Time Series vs Miami (OH)
La Salle is 2-1 all-time against the RedHawks in a series that started in 1987. The Explorers took the first two meetings at home, in 1987 and 2006, before falling on the road in 2008.

In the only meeting between the two programs, the Explorers defeated the Seahawks 62-51 in 1993.
Scouting the Explorers
-La Salle knocked off American 63-59 on Sunday afternoon for their first win of the season.

Micahya Owens scored a team-high 17 points in Sunday's win, which pushed her past Ellen Malone (1978-82) into 13th place on La Salle's all-time scoring list with 1,283 points. The senior needs just seven points to catch Jennifer Zenszer (1997-01).

Amy Griffin is second in the Atlantic 10 in scoring with 19.3 points per game.
-The Explorers hit a season-high 23 free throws in the win over American, going 23-for-29 from the line for a season-high 79.3 free throw percentage.
-La Salle is third in the A-10 with 5.3 blocked shots per game. Griffin has been La Salle's most effective shot blocker with 2.3 blocks per game.

Scouting the RedHawks
-Miami (OH) is coming off a 49-43 loss at Cincinnati on Tuesday.
-Miami's defense has been stingy in November, allowing just 58.5 points per game through four contests.
-The RedHawks have held three of their four opponents below 60 points, and held Cincinnati to a season-low 49 points against the Bearcats on Tuesday.
-The RedHawks has been inconsistent, averaging 66.5 points and a 41.2 shooting percentage from the field as Miami got off to a 2-0 start. Scoring has been a lot slower in the two games since as MU has scored just 43 points in each contest, shooting 24.4 percent from the floor and making just 10-of-44 (22.7 percent) three point attempts.
Scouting the Seahawks
-UNC Wilmington is now 2-1 on the season and will look to win back-to-back games for the first time this season when they face Providence on Saturday. The Seahawks are coming off a 72-66 victory over Georgia State on Sunday afternoon.
-Junior guard Madison Raque led four Seahawks in double figures against the Panthers, posting a career-high 15 points as UNCW shot a season-high 49.1 percent from the field, including an impressive 11-for-22 from beyond the arc.
-Raque is the Seahawks' leading scorer with a 12.3 average while shooting 40.0 percent from the field.
-Redshirt junior forward Jenny DeGraaf is contributing 12.0 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest after scoring 13 points in Sunday's win at Georgia State.
