LOS ANGELES, Calif. - La Salle alum Sean Quigley finished ninth in the marathon at the U.S. Olympic Trials on Saturday in Los Angeles. He finished the 26.2 miles in a time of 2:15:52, which was just under three minutes outside of third place. The top three finishers will represent the United States at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio.
Quigley was running with the lead pack midway through the race before the leaders broke away.
A La Salle Hall of Athletes inductee, Quigley is one of the most decorated athletes in school history. He earned seven All-America citations, five in track and was an 11-time NCAA qualifier. The Braintree, Mass. native won nine Atlantic 10 individual titles and helped the Explorers to three A-10 cross country championships.
