Megan Connell finished second in the 5000 meters to highlight day one for the La Salle women's track and field team at the Atlantic 10 Championships.

Connell ran a 17:20.14 for the second place finish, earning the silver medal for her performance and setting a personal indoor best with her time in the process.

Junior
Mone't Gist qualified for the 60 meter hurdles finals thanks to a fourth place finish in the preliminaries with a time of 8.92 seconds. The time also set a school record for Gist in the process. Freshman
Krista Forbes also ran in the prelims crossing in 15
th place.

Kaleah Miller narrowly missed out on earning points in the long jump as she finished in ninth place with a distance of 5.30m. She was just .11 meters out of eighth place. Junior
Amber Jackson used a leap of 5.21m for 11
th place.

Ifetayo Tyler crossed in 12
th place in the prelims for the 800 meters. She had a time of 2:16.67, just .83 seconds off the last spot in the finals. Junior
Sara Dever crossed in 2:19.96 for 15
th place and set a personal best in the process.

Kate Conville crossed in 13
th place in the 1000m prelims with a time of 3:00.54. Freshman
Emily Ward finished with a time of 3:06.80 for 19
th place in the race.

Ariel Mitchell ran a 7.84 second time in the prelims of the 60 meter dash for a 12
th place finish. Mitchell was just .09 seconds off a spot in the finals. Sophomore
Amber Jenkins crossed in 14
th in 7.90 seconds and Gist finished 20
th in 8.06 seconds.

Mitchell returned for a 14
th place finish in the 200m prelims with a time of 26.26 seconds, .5 seconds off a spot in the finals.

The women's distance medley relay team rounded off the day with a sixth place finish. Senior
Rebecca Scardelletti, Jenkins, Tyler and freshman
Kaitlin Poiesz ran a 12:09.67 in the race.
