PHILDADELPHIA – Big 5 leading scorer
Amy Griffin was named All-Philadelphia Big 5 First Team, it was announced today. The sophomore will be honored at the Big 5 Banquet on Monday, April 11 at 6:30 PM at the Palestra.
Griffin also led the Atlantic 10 in scoring this season, pouring in 17.7 points per game to go with 6.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
The Atlanta, Ga. native scored at least 20 points in nine games this season, including 31 points in the Hawk Holiday Classic Championship game against Monmouth and a career-high 33 points in a win over Saint Joseph's on February 17.
The Big 5 banquet is Monday, April 11 beginning at 6:30 pm at the Palestra. Tickets are $10 each and are available at the door the night of the banquet. Along with the current season men's and women's award winners, five of the greatest men's basketball teams in Big 5 history will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, including the 1968-69 Explorers that reached as high as #2 in the Associated Press poll.
