Women's Cross Country | March 4, 2016

NEW ORLEANS- The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) named sophomore Morgan Szekely a Division I Individual All-Academic team and the women's team as a whole earned a spot on the Division I Women's All-Academic Team.

Szekely was the only Atlantic 10 women to earn the award and one of 160 women in Division I to earn the honor. For an individual to qualify they must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and finish in the top-25 at regionals. Szekely had a 3.38 GPA for the semester and finished in eighth place at the Mid-Atlantic Regional. She qualified for the NCAA Championships and crossed in 45th place which was the best ever finish for an Explorer.

This is the 14th time in program history a woman has been named to the team and Szekely is just the third women to earn the honor multiple times after also being named to the team last season.

The women's team finished with a 3.35 GPA as a team for the semester and this was the sixth straight time and 13th time overall that they have earned the honor.
