The Explorers grabbed sole possession of the sixth place and the final spot in the tournament thanks to the win over the Colonials. A win on Sunday would clinch a spot in the championship for the Explorers.

The Explorers answered back with three goals of their own to retake the lead at 11-10. Junior Allee Ilgenfritz had a pair of goals and senior Katelyn Fay scored one. Edwards recorded a pair of assists during the three goal run.

After George Washington tied the game at 11-11 with 17:48 remaining La Salle was able to hold the hosts scoreless for the remainder of the game while adding a pair of goals themselves. Fay scored the game winner off an assist from Black before freshman Ashley Blanton scored an insurance goal off a Fonte assist.

Freshman goalie Sarah Gallagher made 11 saves in the win with a .500 save percentage. Newby finished tied for a game-high four assists and the Explorers caused ten of George Washington's 17 turnovers on the day.
