La Salle-George Washington  History

The Explorers have won the past two in the series grabbing a 10-8 win last season and  winning a thrilling 8-7 overtime thriller in 2014. Last season the Explorers jumped out to a 7-0 first half lead and held off a late run by the Colonials to seal the win.  Junior Allee Ilgenfritz finished with six goals on the afternoon while senior Katelyn Fay added a pair of her own. Ilgenfritz also recorded a hat trick as a freshman in the 2014 win for La Salle.

Scouting the Colonials

George Washington enters the weekend after snapping a five game losing skid and picking up its first two conference wins over the past weekend. George Washington grabbed a 11-10 win at Richmond before finishing the weekend with a 20-12 win over VCU. The Colonials currently sit tied with La Salle for the sixth and final spot in the A-10 Championship.

Bailey Forcier leads the Colonials and is ranked seventh in the A-10 as she is averaging 3.50 points per game against A-10 opponents. She also leads the team with 5.33 shots per game in conference play.

Forcier is tied for the team lead with 19 goals with Michaela Lynch. Jocelyn Donohue has 15 on the year while Gabbi Hull has 14 to her name.

Adele Wise has been the primary goalie for the Colonials this year. She is averaging 11.99 goals per game and has made 98 saves for a .434 save percentage on the season.

George Washington closes the season with a trip to Duquesne before hosting Saint Joseph's next weekend.

Scouting the Spiders

Richmond enters the weekend on a five game slide. The Spiders grabbed a 16-9 win over VCU to open conference play but have fallen to George Mason, St. Joes, Duquesne, George Washington and Davidson since then. The Spiders host Massachusetts on Friday before welcome La Salle on Sunday and close the season at St. Bonaventure next Saturday.

Despite the rough stretch, the Spiders sit just one game out of A-10 Championship contention.

Richmond ranks third in the league in scoring, as they average 10.77 goals per game on the season. Its offense has slowed down in conference play as the Spiders only average 8.67 goals against A-10 foe.
