PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball team has announced the non-conference portion of its 2016-2017 schedule, which opens against Lafayette at Tom Gola Arena on November 11.
 
The Explorers then take on Big 5 rival Temple at the Liacouras Center on November 14. The Owls advanced to the WNIT Quarterfinals last season.
 
La Salle visits Rider on November 17 before hosting American on November 20. The Blue and Gold will then travel south to match up with Miami University (OH.) and UNC-Wilmington as part of the UNCW Thanksgiving Classic.
 
After Thanksgiving the Explorers are on the road for a pair of Big 5 rivalry games, visiting Villanova (Nov. 30) and Penn (Dec. 7). The Wildcats were also a WNIT qualifier in 2016 while the Quakers won the Ivy League and clinched an NCAA Tournament berth with their third straight 20-win season.
 
The Explorers then have three straight home games to end 2016, beginning with a December 10 meeting with Fairfield. The Stags qualified for the Women's Basketball Invitational after a solid 2015-16 campaign.
 
After a December 21 meeting with Delaware State, La Salle plays the University of Missouri at Kansas City on December 28. The game will be the first meeting between the two programs.
 
The non-conference schedule concludes on January 11 with a home game against Harvard, the first meeting between the programs since 1999.
 
During Atlantic 10 play, La Salle will take on Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Saint Joseph's twice, once at home and once on the road.
 
The Explorers host Duquesne, Fordham, George Mason, George Washington and Saint Louis while visiting Davidson, Dayton, Richmond, St. Bonaventure and VCU.
