ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The first tournament for the La Salle women's golf program is in the books after Sunday's second round at the Navy Invitational.

Freshman Rebecca Smith was the top Explorer finisher after her 81-88=169 performance in her first collegiate appearance. She finished in a tie for 68th.

Freshman Gabby Morganti shot a 97-97-194, while classmate Mary Eyde carded a 109-104=213. Fellow rookie Bella Ritzel had a 109-110=219, while graduate student Kendra Heyer shot a 143-137=280.

Harvard won the event by six strokes over Towson and Penn. Ellen Neighbor of Sacred Heart was the medalist with a 71-77=148 (+4). 

The Explorers are back in action next weekend at Bucknell.
