PHILADELPHIA – The 2016-17 La Salle women's basketball schedule is complete with the release of the 16-game Atlantic 10 slate, which was announced by the conference yesterday.
 
The Atlantic 10 schedule features six teams that qualified for postseason play in 2016 – three in the NCAA Tournament and three in the WNIT.  The Explorers open league play with two road games, at Dayton on December 4 and at VCU on New Year's Day.
 
La Salle returns to Philadelphia for three straight games beginning with the home opener against Duquesne on January 5. La Salle's game against Rhode Island on January 9 will be nationally televised by CBS Sports Network.
 
The Explorers then host a nonconference tilt with Harvard (1/11) and a rivarly game with Saint Joseph's (1/14).  
 
From there the Explorers head south for a midweek tip at Richmond (1/18) and then on to Davidson (1/21). La Salle returns to Tom Gola Arena for games against Massachusetts (1/25) and George Mason (1/28).  
 
The Blue and Gold are at Rhode Island on February 1 before returning home to host George Washington on February 4. After road games at St. Bonaventure (2/7) and Saint Joseph's (2/12), La Salle hosts Saint Louis on February 15.
 
The Explorers are at Massachusetts for their final regular season road game on February 18 and return home for the season finale on February 22 against Fordham.
 
The 2017 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship will feature a new, enhanced format, with six first-round games being played on campus sites, Feb. 25 and 26, before heading to Richmond, March 3-5 for the quarterfinals, semifinals and championship final.
