PHILADELPHIA- The lacrosse team announced its spring schedule for the 2017 season, which will feature 11 games at La Salle University's McCarthy Stadium.

The Explorers will open 2017 competition with a three game home stand, hosting Manhattan on Feb. 22, followed by Sacred Heart on Feb. 25. La Salle will then host Big 5 rival Temple on March 1 at 6:00 PM to conclude the home stretch.

The team will then travel to Orlando, Fl. over the university's mid-semester break to compete against Stetson and Campbell for the first time dating back to 2007.  La Salle will take on the Hatters on March 6 before facing the Fighting Camels for a matinee at Stetson on Friday, March 10.

La Salle is slated to return home to face Central Connecticut on March 17 to kick off a final trio of non-conference games. On Sunday, March 19 the Explorers will host Iona for a matinee game before welcoming High Point on Friday, March 24.

The Explorers will open Atlantic 10 competition away, when the team plays at George Mason on Friday, March 31.

La Salle will enter a four game home stretch when it welcomes Richmond on Sunday, April 2 for their first A-10 home game. From there, the Explorers will face VCU and George Washington the following weekend. The team is slated to play UMass on Thursday, April 13 at 3:00 PM to conclude the home stretch.

The Explorers will make the short trip to St. Joseph's to continue conference competition on April 15, before heading to Pittsburgh to battle Duquesne on Saturday, April 21 at 4:00 PM.

The team will return for one final home game of the season when they host Davidson for a Sunday morning matchup on April 23. Next, the Explorers will travel to Olean, N.Y. to conclude the season against St. Bonaventure on Friday, April 28.

The Atlantic 10 Championship Tournament will be hosted by St. Joseph's from May 4 through May 5.

Leading the Explorers in the 2017 season are captains Danielle Strang, Kiara Lynch, and Rachel Ceplo, who were elected by their peers after the fall season. 

            "Our 2017 team captains have demonstrated their ability to lead as individuals on and off the field throughout the course of the fall.   I am confident that these three young women will work hard and lead by example on a daily basis," said head coach Candace Bossell. "Danielle, Kiara and Rachel have great chemistry as a unit and will make an immediate impact in their new titles this upcoming season."
