NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – La Salle's Amy Griffin has been named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week and Big 5 Player of the Week for the second time this season after leading the Explorers to a pair of A-10 road wins last week, it was announced Monday. Griffin also earned both awards on December 12.
                                       
The junior averaged 24.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 4.0 blocks in a week where La Salle went 2-0 with a pair of A-10 road wins. Griffin had a 26-point, 11-rebound double-double in a win at Davidson Saturday after going for 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks at Richmond on Wednesday.
 
Griffin's five blocks at Richmond tied a career-high set against LIU Brooklyn in 2014. The Atlanta, Ga. native shot 59.4% from the field (19-32) and 80% from the foul line (8-10) for the week.
 
The Explorers resume action this week with a pair of A-10 home games, beginning with a noon tip against Massachusetts for their annual kids game on Wednesday.
