COVERT CLASSIC FULL RESULTS
PENN STATE INVITE FULL RESULTS
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The La Salle women's track and field team traveled to Lehigh University on Saturday to compete in the John Covert Classic. La Salle posted two first place performances and six runners ran personal bests in the contest.
A pair of jumpers,
Kaleah Miller and
Jessica Bryant, placed first and second respectively to top the field of 28 in the long jump competition. Miller leapt a 5.59m distance, while Bryant followed with a career record jump of 5.55m to get La Salle started on the day.
Miller and Bryant also competed in the triple jump, with Bryant leading the way with a 10.89m leap to finish seventh. Miller finished ninth with a 10.60m jump.
Amber Jenkins and
Desirae Osley finished third and fourth overall in 200m. Jenkins sprinted a time of 26.63, while Osley finished in 26.70.
Freshman
Shelby Francis grabbed a first place finish over 34 other runners in the 60m hurdles, sprinting the distance in 9.14 to set a new personal best to continue La Salle's hot start.
Sara Dever competed in the 500m, running a time of 1:21.33 to finished seventh overall and tally a personal record.
Olivia Boyer ran a 10:34.98 in the 3000m to place third overall, setting a career record.
A pair of Explorers represented La Salle in the 400m, with
Corrine Davis finishing in 1:08.89, while
Tyller Moorer finished in a career best of 1:03.83.
Senior
Madison Elliott was the sole representative in the one mile run, finishing the race in 6:04.28 on the day.
Devon Barr ran a 2:32.62 in the 800m race, while fellow freshman
Capri Laurence finished in a career best 2:36.79 in the field of 38 runners.
A 4x400m relay team of Osley, Jenkins, Bryant and Francis closed out the day with a seventh place finish in a time of 4:04.91.
STATE PARK, Pa.- The Explorers also competed in the Penn State Invitational on Saturday, with Tyler Ifetayo leading La Salle with a first place finish in the 800m run, with a time of 2:11.86 to set a new career best.
Morgan Szekely ran the one mile invitational race in 5:04.43 to place 15
th overall to set a new personal record. Freshman
Grace Mancini also posted a career best in a La Salle uniform, running the one mile race in 5:06.93.
A pair of Explorers represented La Salle in the 5000m event, with Kaitlin Poisez finishing sixth in a personal record time of 17:25.90.
Michelle Myland followed behind in 13
th, finishing the race in 18:01.64.
Mone't Gist rounded out the day for the Explorers, posting a 20
th place finish when she sprinted the the 60m hurdles in 9.12.
La Salle will return to the track on Feb. 3, when the team travels to New Haven, Ct. to compete in the two day Giegengack Invitational.
