Explorers Begin Four-Game Home Stand Thursday Night Against Duquesne

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball team starts a four-game home stand on Thursday night when they host Duquesne at Tom Gola Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.

All-Time Series vs Duquesne
The two programs have met 35 times since the series started during the 1982-83 season. The Explorers hold an 18-17 advantage overall, and a 10-7 advantage at home.
 
Scouting the Explorers
-La Salle had a five-game winning streak snapped at VCU with a 61-56 loss to the Rams on New Year's Day. After playing their first two A-10 games on the road, the Explorers return home for three straight A-10 home games.
 
-Senior Jasmine Alston, who leads the Atlantic 10 with 2.7 steals per game, needs just five more steals to pass Jennifer McGowan (233 steals, 1988-93) as La Salle's all-time leader. The Long Island City, N.Y. native is also second in the league with 7.5 assists per game and third in the A-10 in rebounding with 9.0 boards per game.
 
-A-10 leading scorer Amy Griffin needs just 12 points to become the 25th 1,000-point scorer in program history. The Atlanta, Ga. native will join senior Micahya Owens (1,332 pts) as active 1,000-point scorers for the Explorers. 
 
-Adreana Miller had a career-high 20 points against VCU on Sunday while hitting a career-high five three-pointers. The sophomore is second in the A-10 in free throw percentage (91.2 %) and ninth in three-point field goals made per game (1.7).
 
-The Explorers hits six three-point field goals overall against the Rams, the most in a single game this season.
 
Scouting the Dukes
-Duquesne has split their last two games, defeating city rival Pittsburgh 63-54 (Dec. 29) before falling to George Washington 75-40 in A-10 action on New Year's Day.
 
-Despite the lopsided outcome against the Colonials, Duquesne had a few noteworthy individual performances. Sophomore Angela Staffileno, who averages just 2.8 ppg, led the Dukes with a season-high 12 points while Paige Cannon pulled down a career-high eight rebounds.
 
-The Dukes are now 0-2 in league play after dropping a 64-51 decision at Fordham on December 1.
 
-Sophomore Chassidy Omogrosso leads the Dukes in scoring with 13.3 points per game and has dished out 34 assists on the year. Freshman Nina Aho leads the team with 35 assists this season.
 
-Senior Amadea Szamosi needs just 17 points for 1,000 during her career. The Pécs, Hungary native is averaging 11.5 points per game and a team-high 8.3 rebounds.
