NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – La Salle men's cross country freshmen
Ryan James,
Billy Byrne and
Joe Boyle were named to the Atlantic All-Rookie team, which was announced by the league office Tuesday. The team is comprised of the top seven men's finishers at this past weekend's A-10 Cross Country Championship.
James earned the Men's Most Outstanding Rookie Performer award for being the first freshman to cross the finish line, clocking a time of 25:54.4 on the 5-mile course to finish 17
th overall. Byrne was the next newcomer across the finish line, placing 31
st overall with a time of 26:18.8.
Boyle also claimed an All-Rookie nod by clocking 26:48.8 to place 55
th. The Explorers were the only Atlantic 10 team to place more than one runner on the All-Rookie team.
