Live Stats

PHILADELPHIA
- After a victory over Manhattan College in their season debut, the lacrosse team will welcome Sacred Heart to McCarthy Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 23. Draw is scheduled for 12:00 PM for the Explorers' second game of the season.

La Salle-Sacred Heart Series History

The Explorers will meet the Pioneers for just the third time in school history after Sacred Heart won a one goal heartbreaker in 2016 in Fairfield, Conn. Allee Ilgenfritz scored a hat trick at Campus Field but it was not enough to capture the win as Pioneers edged La Salle 11-10. Prior to that, La Salle last defeated the Pioneers in a 15-5 contest in 2015 in Philadelphia.

Scouting the Explorers (1-0)...

-La Salle is coming off a victory in their season opener in head coach Candace Taglianetti Bossell's ninth season at the helm and plans to keep the momentum going as they welcome the Pioneers.

-Toni Massetti led the team with four goals in her return to the field after sustaining an injury in 2016. She proved to be a dominating threat, adding an assist and picking up four groundballs.

-Brittany Edwards also made a strong debut for the Blue and Gold, adding three goals while newcomer Mikki Raymond tallied two in her first game in a La Salle jersey along with two assists.

-Rachel Ceplo won four draws against Manhattan and added one goal, while Nicole Black and Courtney Woolford added a goal apiece. Woolford also picked up three groundballs on the day.

-Lynne Frankel made her collegiate debut in goal, tallying 10 saves against the Jaspers with a .588 save percentage.

Scouting the Pioneers (0-1)…

-The Pioneers were downed at Brown in their first game of the season in a lopsided 19-0 loss.

-Facing La Salle for their second away game in a row, Sacred Heart will look to clinch their first win of head coach Laura Cook's 17th season.

-The Pioneers have returned four of their top five scorers from last year, led by Caitlin Delaney. The senior scored 35 goals, tallied 18 assists and averaged 3.62 groundballs per game in her 2016 campaign.

-Last season, Alyssa Pierce added 30 goals and 16 assists to rank second on the team.

-Goalkeeper Paige Hammick ranked fourth in the North Eastern Conference with 10.40 goals against average a season ago. She posted seven saves in the loss against Brown last weekend.
