PHILADELPHIA- The La Salle lacrosse team will welcome Central Connecticut State and Iona this weekend. Due to weather, the game against the Blue Devils will be played at Saint Joseph's Sweeney Field at 5:00. The Explorers will face the Blue Devils on Friday, March 17 before battling the Gaels at McCarthy Stadium on Sunday, March 18 with a new start time of 12:30 PM.

Explorers vs. Blue Devils All-Time Series
The Explorers and the Blue Devils have met three times since 2013, with La Salle claiming all three games. Most recently, La Salle posted an 8-6 victory at Central Connecticut a season ago. Against the Blue Devils in the 2016 campaign, senior returner Alee Ilgenfritz tallied four goals to help La Salle take home the win.
 
Scouting the Explorers…
- The Explorers split the past week 1-1 against Stetson and Campbell in Deland, Fl. over the semester break. La Salle edged Stetson in a high-scoring 20-18 matchup but was topped by Campbell in a 14-13 heartbreaker.
- Leading the Explorers is Ilgenfritz, who averages a .500 shot percentage and has tallied 18 goals for the Explorers. Adding to a balanced attack is Toni Massetti, who ranks a close second with 14 goals on the season.
- Junior Brittany Edwards has added 11 goals in the 2017 campaign, while adding four assists to rank second on the team.
- Courtney Shoults anchors the defense, causing a team-high five turnovers on the season and adding eight groundballs.
- In goal, rookie Lynne Frankel has picked up a team-high 16 ground balls and has tallied 51 saves this season.
 
Scouting the Blue Devils…
- Central Connecticut is 1-5 this season, with head coach Princess Livingston in her first season at the helm.
- The Blue Devils are led by Melissa Soto, who has tallied 15 goals on the season while causing four turnovers. Adding 14 goals on the season is Megan Szawlowski, who ranks second on the team in scoring and has added a team-high 19 draws.
- Controlling the defense is senior Courtney McPartland, who has caused a team-high 18 turnovers and has picked up 20 groundballs on the season.
- Notably, the Blue Devils took on Iona earlier this season, falling in a 15-6 matchup with the Gaels, who La Salle will face on Sunday.

Sunday's game will be the first matchup between La Salle and Iona since 2012 and just the third in school history. The Explorers have a winning 2-0 record and Iona will look to claim their first win over La Salle this weekend.
 
Scouting the Gaels…
- The Gaels have a 3-5 record on the season, including a 15-6 win against Central Connecticut, who La Salle will have faced on Friday.
- Iona's offense is led by Pamela Giordano, who has netted 19 goals on the season. Giordano has also caused seven turnovers while picking up 10 ground balls.
- Erin Pugh leads the team with 14 caused turnovers and has posted nine goals on the season while picking up 22 ground balls and winning 21 draws.
- In goal, Shannon McCaffrey has started six games and tallied 46 saves. McCaffrey averages a .422 save percentage.
