PRINCETON, N.J.- The men's track and field teams competed in the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton from April 21-22. The team turned in strong results from Weaver Stadium to continue the 2017 campaign.
In the 800m elite run, rookie
Anthony Hawthorne got La Salle's competition underway when he clocked a new personal best time of 1:52.91 to finish 37
th overall.
A pair of Explorers competed in the 1500m elite run.
Stephen Lewandowski led the pair when he crossed the line in 3:51.97 to place 23
rd in the field, while
Brendan Robertson followed behind with a time of 3:56.09.
David Ozarowski and
Andrew Gorsuch ran in the 5000m run, with Ozarowski registering a time of 14:59.75 and Gorsuch finishing in 15:27.30.
On Saturday,
Ache Hall began the Explorers competition in the 110m hurdles, placing 19
th after he crossed the line in 15.42.
Justin Guerre registered La Salle's best performance in the meet when he finished sixth in the 100m sprint, thanks to a time of 10.91 on the day. Guerre also turned in a seventh place finish when he clocked a time of 21.95 on the day.
Chris Trimble ran in the men's 800m event, clocking a time of 2:00.04 to place 29
th.
The team will compete next at the Penn Relays, on Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29 in Philadelphia. They will also send runners to the Lehigh Games on Saturday, April 28 in Bethlehem, Pa.
