PHILADELPHIA - The Men's Soccer team will look to continue its success this upcoming season, but it won't be easy. The team released its schedule earlier today and it features a slate of tough non-conference opponents to go along with stiff competition from the Atlantic 10.

"Our spring sessions and scrimmages really gave us a glimpse into the squad we hope to become," said second year Head Coach Rob Irvine. "Now we have to quickly apply and execute the lessons learned from this last year to the upcoming fall slate."

Irvine returns to lead the Explorers after an impressive year one, finishing the regular season third in the A-10.

"This fall's schedule doesn't allow you to take your foot off the gas. We are challenging our guys right from the beginning of the season so we need to make sure we are sharp right from the first preseason session."

The season opener will take place at home against Loyola (Md.) on August 25 at 7:00 PM. The Explorers defeated Loyola last year, sparking a 5-1 run that would prove to be the team's best start in program history (tied with 1996).

After traveling for three games, the Explorers will return home to play a tough stretch of five matches in the second half of September. Home matches include Saint Peter's, Penn, Lafayette, Hartwick, and LIU Brookyln.

Atlantic 10 play begins on September 30 at Duquesne. The season wraps up on November 1 at Davidson.

Atlantic 10 tournament play begins the following weekend.
