Grace Mancini of the La Salle University women's cross country team was named to the
Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women's Cross Country team on Tuesday.
Mancini was one of just seven student-athletes selected to the team, which is voted upon by the sports information offices of the 30 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
The Media, Pa., native finished second at the Mid-Atlantic Regional to earn all-region accolades, and competed at the NCAA Cross Country Championships last month. She also claimed all-conference honors after finishing sixth at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships in October.
Mancini, a member of La Salle's Honors Program, owns a 3.42 cumulative GPA as a Computer Science & Mathematics major. A two-time all-conference cross country runner, Mancini also stars on the track team. She was a finalist at the NCAA outdoor regional championships in the spring and was recognized with All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) over the summer.
