NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Freshman Deirdre Gilmore of the La Salle University women's track and field team was named to the Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field All-Rookie Team on Wednesday.

The All-Rookie teams are comprised of the top rookie performers in each event across the conference this indoor season. Gilmore was the top rookie in the 5,000-meter run this season.

At the A-10 Championships, Gilmore was the top freshman finisher, crossing the finish line in 17:55.47 for 15th place. It was the fastest 5,000-meter time by a rookie in the A-10 this season. Additionally, Gilmore's mark was the 16th-fastest time among all A-10 runners in the event this season and tops on the team.

Gilmore ran the 5,000 just one other time this season, when she finished second at the Covert Classic on Jan. 27. Her time at the A-10 Championships was nearly 30 seconds better than her previous mark. She also ran the 3,000 meters three times this season, including a third place finish in her track debut at the Mike Massone Invitational.
