BROOKLYN, NY - The women's lacrosse team (3-4) is traveling north to take on the LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds (3-5) on Friday at 4:00 PM. The game will wrap up the team's non-conference schedule.
The Explorers will hope to have the same success they had in New York last week when they defeated the Manhattan Jaspers in convincing fashion. In the game,
Bridget Ruskey and
Brittany Edwards had four goals each while
Mikki Raymond and
Rachel Ceplo had three apiece. In net,
Lynne Frankel made five saves. Ultimately, the Explorers won the game, 16-9.
The Blackbirds recently had their three-game winning streak snapped by VCU last Sunday afternoon. Bianca Santucci and Amanda Mascullo both had hat tricks for LIU Brooklyn. Mascullo was named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week the following Monday. The freshman leads the team in scoring with 15 goals and she's fourth in assists with four.
