LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – The La Salle University women's golf team will hit the links for the 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Golf Championships, which are set to begin Friday, April 20. The three-day, 54-hole event will be held at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course.
The men will tee off from the back nine and the women will tee off from the front nine, starting at 7:30 a.m. The championship round will be broadcasted live on Sunday, April 22, on ESPN3, beginning at 10 a.m.
The Explorers, who are seeded ninth entering the tournament, will be led by redshirt freshman Marybelle Daclan. Daclan has been the most consistent performer for La Salle throughout the 2017-18 season, leading the team with an 82.8 stroke average over 14 rounds. Sophomore Rebecca Smith, who led the team in scoring last season, is second on the squad with an 85.1 stroke average.
The two-time defending MAAC women's golf champion Quinnipiac looks to make it three in a row. The Bobcats are buoyed by sophomore, Alexandra Sazhin. Sazhin took home the 2017 MAAC Rookie of the Year, Most Outstanding Performer, and McLeod Trophy.
