PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle women's lacrosse team is set to host crosstown rival Saint Joseph's in the regular season finale on Saturday at 11:30 AM. The game will be part of Spring Fest and will include food and fun!
The Explorers have been successful lately, posting a 3-1 record in their previous four Atlantic 10 games. The team is still looking to build off of its dramatic comeback win against VCU on the road last week. In that game,
Emily Johnston scored five second-half goals en route to a win and a nod from the A-10 for Rookie of the Week. To put the win in perspective, VCU went on to defeat UMass, a team that had been 7-0 in the conference until that point.
Saint Joe's will be a tough foe to close out the season. The Hawks have been hot as well, winners of their last five and six of their last seven. They've scored double-digit goals every game during that stretch.
Their leading scorer is do-all player Rebecca Lane who has 58 points on 33 goals and 25 assists to go along with 16 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers. Slowing her down will be key. Another player to watch is Francesca Donato who has 49 points this season.
The game begins at 11:30 AM at McCarthy Stadium.
