PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle women's lacrosse team (4-6, 0-2 Atlantic 10) continue conference play this weekend with two road games. The Explorers at George Washington (8-2, 1-1 A-10) on Friday at 2:00 PM and then at UMass (7-3, 2-0 A-10) on Sunday at noon.

Despite two losses to start their conference schedule, the Explorers are able to draw some positives from last week. The La Salle defense held George Mason, the A-10's highest scoring team this season, to its lowest goal total of the year with just 12 goals. The Explorers focused their defense on the top offensive threats on the Patriots and mostly shut them down. On offense, Bridget Ruskey continued to play well and had six total goals in two games, scoring three in each.

After a loss to George Mason, George Washington bounced back with a big 14-3 win over St. Bonaventure win last week. Jocelyn Donohue scored four times. She currently leads the team in scoring with 29 goals. The Colonials have turned the ball over the least amount of times of any A-10 team this season while La Salle is causing the most turnovers of any team.

Meanwhile, the Minutewomen have won three in a row including wins over St. Joseph's and, more recently, common opponent Davidson. In the latter, the UMass defense held the Wildcats to only four goals this season. UMass has separated itself as one of the better teams in the conference on both sides of the ball.
