Grace Mancini will be representing the La Salle University women's track team in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East Preliminary Championships in Tampa, Fla., on Friday.

WHAT TO WATCH
Mancini will be racing in the 3,000-meter steeplechase quarterfinal on Friday beginning at 8:40 p.m. She will be competing in the first heat out of three races. Twelve runners will move on, as the top three finishers in each of the three races and the next three fastest runners will advance to the semifinals of the National Championships, which will take place June 6-9 in Eugene, Ore.
HOW SHE GOT HERE
In just her first season competing in the steeplechase, Mancini qualified for the NCAA regionals when she finished second in the event at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships on May 5. She broke the school record in the race, finishing in 10:18.08 to punch her ticket to Tampa. Mancini's time was the 27th fastest in the East region and 47th fastest in the nation.
