WHAT TO WATCH FOR
After missing the 2017 outdoor season, graduate student
Chris Sanders will look to pick up where he left off in 2016, when he won the A-10 800-meter title as well as the 4x800-meter relay crown. Sanders earned All-America First Team honors in 2016 after placing sixth in the 800 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Additionally, senior
Justin Guerre, who has scored in every A-10 Championship meet during his La Salle career, will aim to keep that streak going in the 100-meter dash. Guerre set the indoor school record in the 100 meters during a third place finish at the A-10 Indoor Championships.
IC4A Indoor 800-meter Champion and school record holder
Anthony Hawthorne will also compete in the 800 meters along with Sanders, as will
Nick Smart.
Dylan Burnett, who already has three outdoor hurdle titles to his credit this spring, will partake in the 110-meter hurdles. Meanwhile,
Nathan Gillis will compete in the 1,500 meters, while
Zakiyy Williams will lead the Explorers in the field with appearances in the long jump and triple jump.
Action will begin for the Explorers early Saturday afternoon from George Mason Stadium.
