PHILADELPHIA – Seventeen members of the La Salle University baseball team are taking the field all across the country this summer to compete on collegiate summer league baseball squads.

The Explorers are being represented on 11 different teams across ten summer leagues. The squads range in location from as far north as New Hampshire, down south in Florida and as far west as Kansas.

Four summer league teams feature multiple players from La Salle, including two teams each with three Explorers on the roster.

Philadelphia Big 5 Co-Player of the Year Ben Faso is joined by teammates Niko Jenkins and Kevin McGowan on the Wilson Tobs of the Coastal Plain League. Meanwhile, Alexarmando Diaz, Sebastian Martinez and Matt Patricio are together on the Vipers of the Collegiate League of the Palm Beaches. Jack Cucinotta and Manny Garcia are both playing in Kansas on the Haysville Aviators, while Ryan Guckin and Tommy Toal are in Michigan playing for the Irish Hills Leprechauns.

Pitchers Mike Anthony, Erik Janss, Michael Jenkins, Colin Kennedy, Colin Scanlon and outfielders Brian Tagoe and Dylan Evans are all competing on teams this summer as well.
